Working Principle. Small industrial RO systems rated at 0.25, 0.5, and 1 ton/h operate on pressure-driven membrane separation. Feed water first passes through pretreatment—typically a sand filter, carbon filter, and water softener—to remove suspended solids, residual chlorine, and hardness. A high-pressure pump then pressurizes the pretreated water to overcome the osmotic pressure of the feed solution, forcing water molecules through a semi-permeable RO membrane while dissolved salts, organics, bacteria, and colloids are rejected and discharged as concentrate.

Performance and Functions. The three models deliver rated permeate flows of 250, 500, and 1,000 L/h respectively, with salt rejection typically in the range of 95–99% and recovery rates of approximately 50–75% depending on feed quality and configuration. Systems are commonly skid-mounted and fully automatic, incorporating a 5-micron precision filter, permeate conductivity monitoring, low-pressure protection, and microprocessor-based control. Their compact footprint, low energy demand, and stable output make them suitable for small-scale industrial pure water production, food and beverage processing, laboratory use, and point-of-use water supply where a dedicated, continuous flow of low-conductivity water is required.
